My good friend Matt Holst, minister of Geneva OPC in Woodstock, GA, recently delivered a lecture titled “Preaching Christ in the Proverbs” at the Reformation Worship Conference at Midway Presbyterian Church in Powder Springs, GA. This is a challenging subject on many levels--not least of which is the fact that wisdom literature has been largely neglected in the biblical-theological realm. Years ago I heard Peter Lillback lecture on  "Finding Christ's Virtuous Wife" (Preaching Christ in light of Proverbs 31). At the time, I thought that what Lillback did was too fanciful for me to embrace as a legitimate interpretive model.
